The Car Is DEAD. I am so fucking pissed off at this point that I am about ready to part the fucker out.

Fucked up thing is that it was all ready to begin tuning today and the ECU crapped itself.

Not having a spare TEC-IIIr in my trunk made things somewhat problematic... so the car will likely be disassembled and the parts sold at auction on Egay unless I have a severe change of heart.

Mark, thats a damn shame. The reputation of the entire Chinese knock-off industry was riding on this one car.

In any case, if you part it, I'm sure the vultures will be out shortly... wait, here I am. I'll save you the ebay hassle for something... the complete Torsen swap or tires/wheels would make my summer.

No the Crank Trigger is fine... It started right up, I began an ECU update and the damn thing ate itself. Red light on the TEC-IIIr = either no 12v on pin G5 or ECU fried.

Well there's 12.4v on pin G5, I think we all know what the other answer is.

Granted you don't want to spring for another Tec ecu before you sell the car, but parting seems like a shame. Inexpensive DIY MS setup to get the car running again a possibility?

Anything is possible if you want to buy the car. I thought about putting a MS in it, and honestly it wouldn't take long, but I am really done with it.

I was pissed that this thing has just taken too long to get back on the road and really it's useless just letting it sit in TX. I spent way too much time just to have the car hemorrhaging like it had ebola all week.

Put water in it.... water starts pouring out the back of the block, seems that someone forgot to put back all the bolts (can't blame anyone but me for all this.) Turn the key on and fuel starts spitting from all the fittings that I had not yet tested. It was just one thing after another, fighting with the car. After everything is put back together and I dump $30 bucks of mobil one into it, the car shits the computer. Sitting there, like what now bitch... what about it? So after being repeatedly be mocked by my car, I am at the point where I want to part it out.

I had rolled into town under the impression that I was just gonna roll onto the dyno and get it tuned... but like I said, the car wanted to mock me. The fabricated parts all turned out brilliant thanks to the hard work from the folks at BEGi.

Should have used a PC pro (J/K man). Sucks you have to part it out after all that nice work! I'd think real hard before tearing it apart though. If I was a baller I'd call dibs on that nitrous and manifold though :)

I think someone just did... They wanted the head and manifold setup.

Here's the deal, if I can part out a good portion of the car then I will part it. However I want to line up some buyers for various parts first so that I don't get stuck with a whole bunch of stuff. There is a lot of interest and I may make a post with pricing later today... I am toying with the idea of megasquirt-II but it doesn't look like it will control 4 coil packs natively. I have a COP setup that I could bolt on it.

Count me in for the head,BEGI intake manifold, and the wheels also.

reddroptop 08-03-2008 08:08 PM

I'd possibly be interested in the 6spd, and ACT/Fidanza combo. Other stuff too, but thats just wishing. Nobody wants to waste time with flakers.

Thanks Mark.

airbrush1 08-03-2008 10:17 PM

again, I call seat dibs dependent on price

Markp 08-03-2008 10:43 PM

Ok, here is what is gonna happen. I have a few people interested in the whole car, obviously that is the way I would prefer to sell the car. If those don't pan out in the very near future I will use this thread and the PM's that I already have to allow those interested parties to claim "dibs" on parts. So I am paying attention and I will offer those people first choice on parts that they have expressed interest in.

Mark

PS - I won't entertain any offers under 10k for the car.

Markp 08-05-2008 06:29 PM

y8s 08-05-2008 07:28 PM

Now why would you generalize like that? Is it because you lack the funds to buy the car? Is it jealousy? Noob to the forums?
