Dammit.
This is one of those cars that makes me say "I wish I hadn't bought my last car so I'd have the money to buy this instead."
$10k is such a steal...

What if I said I'd take $10k for it instead of $12k?
--Anyone? It took a lot of time/$/doing to get this thing intact.
Turning it into an Exocet would be a very rewarding end game... but I envision a different drive-train in that car, and the part where I finish dismantling this well sorted Miata and end up throwing away the 3" stainless exhaust trained to weave through the very cleverly devised rear sub-frame which supports the RX7 turbo diff, and the transmission support infrastructure, would just make for a sad day.
If anyone has ever thought about doing this swap, don't.
But if someone already undertook the whole physical/financial burden, and then offers to pass it on for less than quarters on the dolllar... well that could be a different story. Hi.
I tried to edit the original post to update the price, but there's simply no edit button now. I guess it erodes off w/ time?

i started swapping an sr into my 92 back in 2006 but sold it before I finished it. Not sure where it went but looks like you had a blast building it. Wish I kept mine. Moved into a 240sx sr swapped now I wanna get back into a miata but like you having a hard time selling ha.
I finally got the Miata out of winter storage. I took it for a little ride today, --man this thing wants to rumble. I would be willing to accept $9000 for it since I clearly do not need it; having neglected to even ready for the season until today.
The car is in Williston, VT, 05495.
Please let me know if you'd be interested in seeing it, or have any questions.

I will get a startup/walkaround video of it when he returns to service, and update this thread w/ a link for anyone who is interested. It has been casually for sale for a year or so, and nobody has come to see or drive it... First to see might buy, but it's certainly not for everyone.
Thanks for the praise.
That $8k is already spent.
I purchased and have almost completed a stock 94 1.8L Exocet. I have driven so many Miatae in my life, that I really want to fully perceive what a stock drivetrain w/ an 800lb diet feels like, before I inevitably take that sorta-car too far as well. My vision for that (at the moment, but no financial commitment thus far), is to purchase one of those JV6 superfastmiatas.com kits, and slip a Honda Oddyssey Minivan motor up in there. 300 normally aspirated horsepower, designed to haul a minivan around --should make a pretty long term reliable street/track buddy.
Nice! If you haven't already, come join us fellow builders and share your build on the FB group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/exocetowners/ ) .
