I love Kotomile the way only a closet chicken queen can love a twink, but...

What happens the next time something a Moslim doesn't understand is used as ammunition to limit American freedom? America already decided that non-Muslim American cannot draw cartoons or even make cartoons about Mohamed and there is increasing leverage with Imams using Mosques as a battle-front to gain power in the USA. This is not the first attempt to adjust the American lifestyle and won't be the last. What will offend Moslims next?

Easy solution, ban:

1) Religions
2) Sports
3) Political Parties

The two latter also seem to fall under category 1), how convenient!

Can't see YouTube or Photobucket over here Jeff, if you summarize what it is you linked to I'll do my best to imagine it.

Agree, Hustler, but what he's doing is deliberately inflammatory. The cartoon thing is silly, but burning a Quran is more in-your-face.

Someone just go kick this guy's *** already.

My father used to say "with rights, come responsibilities". If you want the right to say/do anything you want, you have the responsibility to use you head, and consider the consequences to yourself and others.

I believe that when our founding fathers envisioned our freedoms, I doubt they fully understood how egocentric and selfish, we as a nation would become. The use of our freedoms should be balanced with a desire to assist in the common good. Any other use of a "freedom" (speech, etc) is detrimental to our longevity (read: Rome).

this was taking from the youtube page discription.

So the US-based Muslim website Revolutionmuslim.com posted a barely concealed veiled threat against the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear costume.

Well kudos to the South Park creators for showing the backbone to defiantly stand against those who hope, through threats of violence, to have a chilling effect on free speech.

I see no reason to mince words here. Theo van Gogh was killed for nothing other than making a film critical of Islam. He was shot, stabbed and beheaded in the capital of a First World country. Over a hundred were killed world wide in riots etc over the Danish cartoons.
-It is unacceptable, unthinkable, that we should stand by and allow such folk to import the core of their religion, -the core which has kept their civilization in the dark ages for the last 800 years into our enlightened civilization. Not while I have my strength. I have seen the fruits of the Enlightenment, and I have seen the stagnation of the Middle East.
We cannot allow them to do this as firstly they do not have the maturity to wield the power of the Age of Reason, and secondly who in their right might would wish to re-embrace the Dark Ages.

Sharia Law is an irrelevance in the first world, and if you think that if someone draws a picture of your 'Prophet' that this means you have the right to kill them, then you have no place in the First World.

Are you really going to argue against The First Amendment?

Oh, no. Not at all. I just believe that we don't use it as it was intended.

We as a society, don't take others wellbeing into consideration as we exercise our rights, in the same manner our great grandfathers did.

I don't really give a **** about another nation's well being if that has a negative impact on my First Amendment rights. I bet Salman Rushdie agrees with me.

I'm not talking about "other nations", I'm referring to ourselves.

I also believe in our First Amendment rights, and would not stop this preacher in Fl. but he is putting his "right" to speak above the lives of our service men, and perhaps even civilians. He is selfish, and it is this activity, that I speak against. Not the burning of books, but the putting the lives of others at risk for a pointless demonstration, that will accomplish nothing, except make short sighted people feel better for a time.

He is definitely allowed to exercise his views. It takes ***** to do it to that extent. Muslims don't bother me in particular. However, if your an American, you should not want other Americans to get harmed. This could cause it. Should we stop him? Hell no. Is he a moron? Hell yes. Each group has it's extremists. Whoever said religion is the cause of fighting, I offer a counterpoint. If it was not for religion, there would be no set of morals. If it wasn't for my beliefs, and what i was taught by religious people, everytime I wanted something, I would just take it. A viper? Sweet! Someone pisses me off or screws me over. I blast them. As a matter of fact, our nation would not have been able to develop as it has if not for Christianity. Where do you think our laws came from? I pretty much imagine that we would all be third world, and also farther behind technologically if not for these facts.

he did not come to his senses, he said if the brown people call me and say they will not build the ground zero training camp then i will take that as a sign from god and call it off. the central Florida terrorist leader called him and said the ny terrorist leader will meet with him about the ground zero training camp. when the ny terrorist leader was asked about this he said "this is news to me, i never said i anything and i'm never going to give up on my ground zero training camp"

so 1 of 2 things is happening. like all museums they said 1 thing on the phone to the Cristen fanatic in fl and then said the opposite to the world. or they plane on flying the plane with the christen fanatic into his church... or both i would bet.

As an Atheist, I respectfully disagree. Absence of faith doesn't mean absense of morals. An upbringing without religion doesn't mean that right and wrong is not taught.

According to the latest headlines I'm seeing, it's "on hold". Though this is a good sign it may be called off.

I talked with some of the terps (on my compound I am the only American who sleeps in the same room with the interpreters, and I work alongside them every day) and they all agreed:

- He is a moron
- He doesn't understand what he's doing
- He's putting Americans in harms way both here and at home
- He would damage the US's relationship with the Muslim world

I wonder how many of you would still wax on about the First Amendment if your local mall was a target of a suicide bomber, or your kids' school had a car bomb parked in front of it. Remember the Times Square car bomb? That was just the Pakistani Taliban, and it failed. If this pastor doesn't stop exercising his "right" to **** off the rest of the Muslim world, there will be consequences. I think dstn2bdoa has it right.

I'm happy for the armed forces, sad for America. I look forward to book banning and general censorship in the future. I also hope that America comes to its senses and realizes that Democracy and Capitalism is offensive to Muslims and for America to convert to Sharia to be more sensitive to world opinion.

Your my hero. God forbid we offend someone. Our tolerance for every bleeding heart out there will be our down fall. The more we accept and allow other peoples beliefs to be pushed over the American values, the faster we will fail. That video was dumb. What are the parameters for defining peace? I feel like we are very peaceful. Half those "peaceful" countries I wouldn't want to live in. I think Germany would be the only one. Who is it that hollers for us when they need help? Every set of laws out there in moderized civilization can be traced to some for of religion, like it or not. It is what established moral structure and respect for humanity.
