#RemoveMoreRegulations.

Two federal inspectors warned that “mystery” meat and other unwanted materials will contaminate pork throughout the U.S. under the new meat inspection rules currently being used in a pilot program, NBC News reported Monday.

Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) inspectors Anthony Vallone and Jill Mauer told NBC News that they filed whistleblower disclosure forms with the Office of Special Counsel about their concerns with the reduction of the required number of federal inspectors at plants.

"The consumer's being duped," Mauer said, adding that the meat may be more likely to contain feces, sex organs, toenails, bladders and unwanted hair.

I love the uneducated.

"More than half of the participants in the Yankelovich focus groups questioned the price of our burger. "Why," they asked, "should we pay the same amount for a third of a pound of meat as we do for a quarter-pound of meat at McDonald's? You're overcharging us." Honestly. People thought a third of a pound was less than a quarter of a pound. After all, three is less than four!"

Pelosi threatens to delay Senate impeachment trial

Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to commit Wednesday to delivering articles of impeachment to the Senate, citing concerns about an unfair trial on removing President Donald Trump from office.

Senior Democratic aides said the House was “very unlikely” to take the steps necessary to send the articles to the Senate until at least early January, a delay of at least two weeks and perhaps longer.

Not a single Democratic representative said " we will take our cues from the whitehouse" AKA the person under investigation. Unlike Mitch, who has publicly said he is not impartial and will not comply with court orders, but will be leading the next event.

Who in the House vote was impartial? Please name them. I know of only a small number of abstentions. Everyone else was partisan. Probably because this was a partisan Act from the get-go.

I am frankly quite happy that they are amusing themselves with this theater rather than consuming their time passing laws that restrict individual freedom and liberty. Long live the charade!

BGordon 12-19-2019 09:28 AM

The House Democrats have gone thru most of their dog and pony show.
Holding off sending the Impeachment to the Senate prolongs the show, pure and simple.
Wouldn't surprise me to see them holding off sending it for months in order to milk more face time in the media.
An additional benefit for the Democrats is that the longer they can keep it out of the Senate, the longer and more vigorously they can bad mouth the opposition.

In our society it all comes down to prime time coverage.

Polesi, Schiff, and Nadler have all campaigned on impeachment publicly -- well before the impeachment inquiry. They are NOT impartial.

They failed to follow rules/precedents, held secret meetings, denied access, moved goal posts, altered charges, denied representation, denied evidence, denied witnesses, etc. Hell they had witnesses question other witnesses.

This is a political stunt. Nothing more.

They are literally doing exactly what they accuse the President of:
  • Engaged in this scheme or course of conduct for corrupt purposes in pursuit of personal political benefit.
  • Placed his/her personal, political interests above our national security, our free and fair elections, and our system of checks and balances.

Trump was simply flying too close to the sun*, and when the Mueller investigation failed to deliver anything to impeach him with (which we all knew wouldn't since it was all fake to being with) they used the flimsiest piece of bullshit they could find to just go ahead and do it; purely for political reasons during the re-election campaign.

The vote for impeachment was partisan. The only abstainers were democrats. One left/is leaving the party over it. They actually fucking impeached him for going to the courts for fuck's sake...

The house ran this exactly like a grand jury -- to get the result they wanted. Nevertheless, they had the votes for impeachment on November 20, 2018 (many of these new house members who voted yay campaigned on impeachment) -- they just waited until the election season to bring something bogus up against the President in order to inflict most damage.

because remember:

I'm Concerned If We Don't Impeach This President, He Will Get Re-Elected

Nadler literally postponed his committee's vote so it would be seen on TV during the morning, not late at night.

what does that have to do with a politically motivated coup to try to ensure the president doesn't get a third supreme Court nominee to the bench?

Keyword: try

Democrats knew from day one this wouldn't pass the Senate if it wasn't based in fact. So there's only so many conclusions one can draw from it all.

meanwhile:

...

Over the past five years, the Emerald City has seen an explosion of homelessness, crime, and addiction. In its 2017 point-in-time count of the homeless, King County social-services agency All Home found 11,643 people sleeping in tents, cars, and emergency shelters. Property crime has risen to a rate two and a half times higher than Los Angeles’s and four times higher than New York City’s. Cleanup crews pick up tens of thousands of dirty needles from city streets and parks every year.

At the same time, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the Seattle metro area spends more than $1 billion fighting homelessness every year. That’s nearly $100,000 for every homeless man, woman, and child in King County, yet the crisis seems only to have deepened, with more addiction, more crime, and more tent encampments in residential neighborhoods. By any measure, the city’s efforts are not working.

Former Vice Preisdent Joe Biden made clear at Thursday night’s Democratic presidential primary debate that he’d sacrifice economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production and potentially risk displacing hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in order to combat climate change.

Moderator Tim Alberta asked: "Three consecutive American presidents have enjoyed stints of explosive economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production. As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?”

“The answer is yes,” the former vice president said.

House Votes to Repeal $10,000 Cap on State Tax Deduction

Democrats seek to reverse a part of the 2017 tax law unpopular in high-tax states, but success unlikely

Updated Dec. 19, 2019 4:49 pm ET

"The bill would repeal the $10,000 cap on the federal deduction for state and local taxes for the next two years and set the limit at $20,000 for married couples for 2019. To pay for the temporary change, the bill would raise the top individual tax rate to 39.6% from 37% in the years 2020 through 2025."
