There are like 40 gun homicides a day in this country of people I don't know. Does it suck for the loved ones of the deceased? Of course, can I worry about everyone, everywhere all the time? Nope, nor will I start.

Obviously every homicide is a tragedy but the FACT that, had races been reversed, it would have IGNITED the airwaves for no less that 4 weeks is the issue I think most are taking with it.

I mean, individuals (in sticking with thread trends) seem to kill a few black children per weekend in Chicago and the media never really seem to give a shit about them either. But the second a white dude lays hands on a darker person, it's BREAKING NEWS.

But most of the other cases weren't in the situation of "he's been arrested, charged, and jailed with no bond" DAYS before it became national news.

"Day 12 of a black man still in jail with no bond for murdering a child." What is there to cover at that point? The don't have anything to speculate about to get viewers to tune back in, it's really that simple.

Dererk Chauvin was arrested 4 days after Floyd died, you're telling me if Darius Sessoms had eluded the police for 96 hours that this story would have gotten comparable coverage to Mr. Floyds "hate crime" on major news outlets?
