In my parents area a porn shop took set up shop in a very prominent location in town. Citizens of that town were unhappy with a huge porn shop in the middle of town and pressured them out, IIRC, they were paid a handsome reward to close up shop and move to a different location hidden away from public view. This happens every day...so again, what's the problem? The porn shop has absolutely every right to operate in that location, and people have every right to be upset with it being there. So what did they do? made a compromise; the porn shop found it beneficial to take a payment of cash and simply move shop, and a the citizens of said town were happy to buy porn in seclusion again.

There is nothing illegal with building a mosque at Ground Zero. However it is in bad taste and likely has malicious intent. It would be no different than the Japanese government building a monument to their naval victory in Pearl Harbor right next to the Arizona.

Bad taste is not a crime. This should be a local zoning issue. It's unfathomable to me that our President and Speaker of the House are supporting the issue. It's maddening to me that our tax dollars are sending this Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf around the world to fund raise to build a Mosque. A man who has written a book titled A Call For The Spread of Islam From the World Trade Center Rubble. There is no doubt that such a Mosque if it is constructed will be seen as a monument to radical Islam's attack on the United States.
