I like the fact that most of the amendments were rejected. I would have been in favor of all 11 of them being rejected as even the ones that were approved ("property tax relief to low-income seniors, disabled veterans and spouses of deceased military personnel and first responders") did not belong in the state Constitution. That's not the place for tax policy.

I agree that most if not all of the amendments were overstepping. The only one I really wanted through was the individual mandate one as it would have been more of a statement than anything. I was also really hoping the one about state funding for religious groups was going to fail, which it did.

MA:

-voted out a truly bipartisan senator for a qualified but whiny liberal figure head (not shocking)
-voted against intellectual property (ballot 1 - right to repair)
-voted against humane end of life (ballot 2 - assisted suicide for the terminally ill ... fucking Catholics)
-voted for medical marijuana (ballot 3 - which begs the question: WTF happened on ballot 2?)

I'm hoping Colorado/Washington's move towards legalization leads to critical drug reform ... way to go!

Sadly, the aforementioned tax-loophole-closure (Prop 39) isn't actually going to help the state budget. Most of money being confiscated from the productive businesses is earmarked for greenwashing projects, and there's really no accountability attached to it. Just more tax-to-spend politics.

I think what people should really care is Measure B plus Prop 30 is going to effectively move the porn industry out of CA, along with most other business...

The savings of state tax payer money has begun. Imagine that, not locking up people for non-violent non crimes and filling up the jails and the legal system. I think Violent crimes will drop as well because the industry won’t be so lucrative for violent criminals to be in and can you say tax revenue.
