Web search works, but click "shopping" and you get no results.

Rleete is correct, one server I have access to now gets this result.

Started googling, the uproar people are making over a business making a business action for business purposes and trying to turn it into a purely political mess is

Yeah, Google doesn't want to list guns on it's commercial service. So don't use them. It's not some crazy leftist plot, and they are not censoring their main search results either - just their commercial sites. Free market bros, free market - or is it only "free market" when it advances your political ideology?

Is the action or reaction political? This is how the free market works. I'm heavily invested into Google, I'd like for them to agree with me so I can keep doing business with them. If not I'll have to get a new phone, new service provider, new email address, new cloud storage, and other ----. Where has any of this discussion infringed upon "free market ideas"?

Guess it's time to rally the activists and stand in line to search the web for chicken sandwiches and support google's right to deny your personal rights.

I got over it, bought another Android phone, bought stuff with Google Wallett, ate at Chick-fil-a, and gave a hange to a gay. I still think it sucks, but I was also a little more excited about WM8 at that time...which will fail.

I'm with you, Hustly.

I want WM8 to succeed so bad, but so far it's looking like it's going to suck so hard that...I don't even have a word for it.

I really, really want MS to get W8 right, but it's not looking like it's possible, which is incredibly frustrating for me professionally.

It won't happen.

I agree, but it doesn't change me from wanting it to happen so bad.

Do you have any idea how cool compile-once-run-anywhere is for a developer? I mean, Tuner Studio on WP8 phones and you can just compile it from your development machine without having to do anything special? ---- yes!

This is crappy. I liked Google overall. Since I'm not computer savvy what are the other options? It still works for me at the minute. I really need to go buy my long gun before I'm not allowed to do that either, other crap has been priority.

I can also search fine for guns and bullets on google shopping again as well...

Great catch TorqueZombie! Apparently, Google brought back guns and ammo onto their shopping site.

triple88a 08-03-2012 12:42 PM

So does this thing work if the gun doesnt have a trigger? :P

Google SHOPPING brah.

What laws are in question here?

I should also probably not rule-out pressure from DC related to guns and ammo.

and on that note, off to the range.

Jaybee94 08-11-2012 01:14 AM

Man I tried searching and shopping and it wouldn't work. Sigh what's happening in this world

blaen99 08-11-2012 03:56 AM

9mm ammo searched under Google Shopping returns results for me in the following states...

Washington, California (Two places, no less!), Oregon, New York, and New Jersey.

The states I get no results are...

Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin

Dollars to donuts I know why this is, and dollars to donuts the more astute members of the forum will figure out really quickly why Google states legal issues and does not list guns and ammo in those states. Note that I don't claim this is an exhaustive list, or that people may get different results. But I think I see what's going on, beyond "OMGCONSPIRACYTHEORIES!"

hustler 08-11-2012 09:20 AM

I think Google is trying to stay out of court, regardless of right/wrong.
