Default 1.6 downpipe/exhaust vs. 1.8 downpipe/exhaust

I'm a little confused by FM's downpipe options concerning the 1.6.

I have a buddy i'd like to give a spare downpipe exhaust setup for from our 95 1.8 for cheap. He has a 93 with the 1.6 he bought off of me.

The idea is a budget turbo build.

Any sort of modification required to swap between the two? I don't understand what FM's "hybrid" downpipes and such are all about.

I imagine this is all because i have spent much time with NAs and i've maybe touched.... two 1.6 cars in my life.

I would just call them and ask. The hybrid says it's to rock the larger cat from the later cars.

"Hey guys, i have an old downpipe from you guys and an exhaust from someone else that i'm trying to sell to a buddy for cheap so i can make a quick buck, and so he can save money by not having to purchase brand new. You have nothing to gain from this, help me, k?"

I mean... i can if it comes down to it. Just seems rude.

nah. It's a simple question. "I was wanting to know the difference between your 1.6 & 1.8 downpipes." You are the customer, you are allowed to inquire. Can't speak for them, but there's no real reason to hide the answer when you would eventually figure it out anyway.

For all they know you could be asking because you wanted to upgrade later.
