Exclamation 1.6L quick-spoolin turbo

Hi!! looking for any recommendations concerning a super quick spooling setup for a 1.6L na.

I was running a CXracing .86 A/R compressor turbo with the 28 flange, but blew up my manifold shortly after.

I now have a cast t3 manifold, but cant find anything online that would spool fast enough with that flange.

Let me know your thoughts. Cheers!

Yup you want a t25 turbo, which are sized more appropriately for your 1.6, and you’ll like your setup a lot more once you do.

Default Manifold

Thank you!!! My only problem then would be the search for a manifold. A quality manifold for a t28 flange and 1.6 motor is extremely hard to come across. Any recommendations?

Ebay...Nvm this, there are all t3.

I run a kraken manifold on a 1.8 t25. No complains so far. I imagine his 1.6 are just as good.

Brain ran the T3 super 60 IIRC. Might be worth a look.

Kraken also has 1.6 manifolds for using a subaru turbo. My TD04L-13T spools very well considering I have a 1.6 and a 2" exhaust still.

My Ebay T3/T4 setup spools about as well on my 1.6L as x_25's TD04, but I do have a 3" exhaust. (orange line below)

I had an sr20 turbo on my 1.6 that died. Been torn between a gt2554r and gt2560r (yes the age old question) and need to make my mind up soon. Does anyone have experience running a .84 turbine housing on a gt2554r? Flow is flow so I think the 2554r will still run out of breath.

Are there .83 housings for a GT25?

If you want spool, you need the standard .64 housing, especially on a 1.6

https://www.speedyracer.com/index.ph...hoCEFYQAvD_BwE

This is listed as a .63a/r turbine housing but mine came with a .48 which is what I was looking for.

atpturbo can build you a gt2560 with T3 flange. You just have to decide what cost more FM T2 mani or custom turbo.
