It fits, just:

Had to remove the air conditioning mounting points with a cut off disc to bring it forward/high enough:

I don't know why I bothered, but making stuff like this fit is half the fun. :giggle:

Cheers

Please tell me this is going to be pressurized by a huge snail.
Otherwise its pointless.

timk 07-17-2011 01:48 AM

A big snail may come later, for now it is going to be a nice solid 200-220whp setup.

This is my dedicated track car and being in Australia I attend circuits where the ambient temperature gets crazy high. My old setup had bad heat soak which has lead me to go overkill this time around.

Are you going to do anything about the beam blocking off almost half of it?
Also keep in mind that you're taking lots of flow away from the rad.
I think you need tons and tons of shrouding to keep the heat exchangers happy.

Braineack 07-17-2011 11:00 AM

that's one huge bitch.

seraph 07-17-2011 03:49 PM

Wow, good work fitting that, but I don't think it'll be anymore efficient as a 28x7 and definitely won't be stunning from the front since the bumper covers it all up.

Faeflora 07-17-2011 03:58 PM

I will trade you. :)

TURNS101 07-18-2011 07:58 PM

I would worry about less flow to the rad over anything..

my car started running hotter when i installed a larger intercooler even with shrouding. im guessing because most of the air passing through the rad goes through the intercooler first and is now hotter than ambient.

You'll overheat the car with a IC that big. I guarantee it.

+1. There's absolutely no way that car will stay cool. At 350whp I am using a 600hp Precision core (31x8x3.5 overall), and the upper half of the radiator is fed fresh air. CLTs are <200*F no matter what. I have tried to feed the radiator with nothing but air from the IC and it does not work at all.

no go

Gotpsi? 07-26-2011 10:04 PM

Im running one the same size I have had no problems with heat since I sealed it up really well and vented the hood. on the street I could see a problem though. mine is mounted quite a bit differently though. Never seen higher than 130 iat @ willow springs on a 105 day.

JKav 07-26-2011 11:47 PM

Also, how much does that slab weigh?

Gotpsi? 07-27-2011 12:10 AM

its heavy but having a tube front end makes up for it, and gives better air flow because I dont have all the crash stuff in the way.
