Default Advice/help with idle.

Hello fellow Miata cultist.

Hopefully someone can chime in with some advice on how to remedy an issue I have. The car is a 99 with a t25 and megasquirt for tuning. The car makes good power, no complains there. I run into an issue when I am stopped at a light and crank up the a/c.

The car starts to bog down and the idle starts to hunt if that’s the right word…until she dies. Once you are moving there is no problem. Being that I am in florida ac is a must…..

Any suggestions are welcome!

Timing, fuel, and air all help with idle. Timing ignition idle correction, fuel is your main VE table and EGO, air is the idle valve. You need to use AC idle up as well. Does that work? Is idle ignition control able to add at least 10*? Fuel in the new RPM column provide appropriate AFRs?

Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t have access to the ecu, I am assuming I will need to download an app or something to a laptop to get access. I am completely green to tuning so I’ll need to watch a few tutorials to get up to speed.

Default A/c issues with boost

did you ever find a solution for this? Just got my 95M back from a professional turbo install. Same issues with A/C, tuner was stumped and as I live in TN my only option is to run A/C only when moving. Any solutions?

Look for Air Conditioning Idle Up. This should allow you to increase the idle speed of the engine when the AC is on.
