right now, I'm using an old saab intercooler. However, I tried to set everything up so I could upgrade to a larger intercooler later on.
I had to do some cutting on the support that runs across the front between the headlights. If I had removed my AC, I probably wouldn't have had to cut that. I did bolt in a piece of angle aluminum to try to replace the rigidity that I lost when I cut some of the support.

A couple updated pictures, I'm hoping to crank this puppy this week. Here is the revised BOV location, I moved it over here once I found out I could put a breather filter on the idle air valve instead of piping it to the intake pipe.
DIY, PVC breather can! I had to have something created from parts from Lowes on my car!

took the car out for a short drive Sunday but turned around when it didn't "seem" right. I wasn't heavy on the throttle, but the boost gauge never went out of vac, at about 2500 rpm it was reading around 10 vac. If I recall correctly, my buddy's bell kit sends the boost gauge to zero pretty quickly, so I'm thinking something is off with my car.
Just to be safe, last night I tested the boost gauge (purchased used) with a bike pump to make sure it will register boost and it does. I also tested the waste gate actuator and it opens around 8 psi. I don't feel any noticable leaks at any of my connections and the intercooler felt cool to the touch when the car was idling in the driveway.
It does feel like there is a little bit of flow out of the blow off valve at idle, so I'm going to "plug" it and go for a short drive to see if that fixes it. Perhaps it is venting when it shouldn't. I have another spring that I can add to it if necessary.

OK, so I manned up and gave it some more gas pedal. I couldn't do too much, I saw 3 cops in 5 minutes on the road. The car is building some boost and I hear the bov releasing when I let off the gas. (sounds kind of cool!) Now I'm beginning to question the accuracy of autometer boost gauge.
The stock water temp gauge was not happy with me, though. It definitely shifted to the right, towards 1 o'clock. The megasquirt display on the laptop only went up to 200 degrees, though. I don't have any shrouding in the car right now, hopefully that will help. I don't want to remove the ac and the all metal radiator is pretty new.
Next time I take it out, I'll try to remember to run a log of the trip.

yes, the car needs some tuning, it is running pig rich right now according to the LC-1. With it running as rich as it is, I seriously doubt the temp rise is due to detonation...
I do think the temp rising is due to the fact that I haven't put all the shrouding back into the mouth of the car, so once the air moves past the bumper cover there is nothing controlling the flow.
