Opinions on HKS Super SQV

I'm a big fan. Just remove the 'whistle tip' and they don't sound like some ricer bullshit while doing their thing.
They also sell a recirc fitting which you should pick up since I see you are still on a stock ECU.
Oh, and grab something similar to this to make install painless:

I bought one a month back however still have to hook it up. Ebay one... The black colored ones are shitty. Paint is the primary cause why they leak. Also there wasnt a single smudge of grease in there.
I ended up sanding it a bit to make the surfaces flat (no more paint) and added grease everywhere. Also the screws that hold the dark vader helmet on.. They leak like **** since they are drilled all the way through so i used some rtv sealer to seal them up on assembly.
Currently the bov does not leak however i still wonder how it will vent.
The reason why i bought it was to see how it works since the pics tend to miss some very important details.. the middle chamber is connected to the intake manifold chamber via very tiny holes.

OK so I've finally hooked my wastegate back up so for the first time i got to hear the ebay ssqv i bought few months back...
I get a little of surge however its not the turkey sound surge you hear with no bov.
Long story short i did few modifications to the ebay one and its not leaking any more.
First thing there wasnt a single drop of grease on there...
It was also leaking a **** load in the front where the Darth Vader helmet bolts on.
I took fine paper on the edge of the sharp counter and sanded the face smooth and even.
I also did the bottom where it mounts to the bottom plate.
The holes are tapped all the way through and it was leaking through the holes so i used gasket maker rtv to seal them up.
All done. Not a single leak.
For the 30-40 bucks i spent on it...i'll buy it again. This replaced a Forge VTA BOV.

I bought the same black one to replace a genuine 1st gen HKS.... Spent a lot of time messing with it, I ended up cutting the spring some, sanding the shaft, sanding the mating surfaces and greasing it. I think it should be working fine now, as far as I can tell by making it actuate w/ a mityvac just haven't had time or motivation to try it again. It was compressor surge city as shipped.

im glad i ditched that pos the ebay piece. i love the sspv, nice sound, decently loud, doesn't need to see boost to make noise i think anything around +or- 10 vac. +1 for messing with the kids with "fast Honda's". it wouldn't bother me if in 5+ years im replacing it, itll probably be a different setup by then anyway.

No leaks while in vacuum if spring is too soft.
Doesn't rely on intake pressure to open the plastic valve...Too soft of spring will cause leak at cruise, too strong of a spring will not allow it to open at low boost.
The ssqv design takes the current manifold pressure as a base instead of the pressure before the TB.
Dual valves.. 1 small for small intake manifold pressure changes, 1 big for big pressure changes.
At last it sounds better than a compressor sound.
The only reason why i dont like the ssqv is that rubber piece however the forge has the rubber o rings that rip so there's some maintenance there too.

i am using a ssqv with the purple insert. sounds great. havent had leaks or surging. i had this same valve on a different car, used for over 3 combined years now and havent done maintenance on it...still works flawless. i bought o ring when i took it off the other flange and put it on the 2.5 hks flange pipe i got on ebay.
