Hi Guys, did a search and read through many posts. I have just bought a NA 1600 with a TD04 turbo and G3 link.

Within a week of owning it, it has developed a leak from the oil feed line.

I have pulled it apart and it would appear the 10-12 cm (4" approx) rubber hose between the two hard lines has gone hard.

Can some one please suggest a suitable replacement hose for this, I have read all sorts of specs in my search but at the moment this is hard to comprehend due to inexperience AND a different country with (presumably)different systems (metric for a start)....

Is plain braided hose going to handle the pressure /temp?
Is there a brand and model of hose that is specifically suited etc...

If anyone has any links you can insert would be really appreciated so I can see what it is and possibly work out an equivelent....

Ebay has tons of oil feed line kits. What is the connection you have now? Banjo fitting? AN?

Hi Wildanimal. The lines are hard at each end (engine block and turbo with Banjo fittings ) with slide on hose fittings and hose clamps in between for the rubber hose which is situated directly behind the turbo.

External heat from the turbo/exhaust manifold seems to be the killer here.....

Also, what pressure is the oil to the turbo at, I think I read 6 psi somewhere.....?

Well best choice would be to change to a fully braided line between the turbo and oil pan. If your wanting to replace it I suppose you could measure the outside and then try to pick up new line at an auto store, or just pull the hose off and take it in with you to the auto store. Really the best would be to just use braided line.

Thanks guys, went to a race supply shop for braided line, they said it wouldn't handle the heat or temp (?) and sent me to a hydraulic supply. Apparently the hose i had was rubber steel rubber and suitable to 4000psi but not heat of any consequence.

He gave me a replacement piece that was rated lower Psi but higher temp......

Time will tell I guess.

Kinda freaks me out somewhat because if the hose or clamps let go it will inject hot engine oil directly on the the turbo housing. I presume that would result in a SERIOUS and hard to put out fire.....

Oh, reading comprehension fail, I was thinking drain line. Ya I would definately suggest getting a braided line for the feed line, too much chance of it rubbing on something and spewing oil.

Get a ss lined with teflon for the oil feed .And if you want for a preventive measure,I usually slip on a "fyrejacket" on there just incase.

Thanks guys, not sure how helpfull this will be but for anyone in New Zealand it appears Greenlane Speedshop is the solution.

They have the hose and fittings DJTC suggested.
