BEGI Intake manifold install pics
2 Attachment(s)
I finally got this thing completely installed. I put it all on there the first time and my car wasnt running correctly. I think I had a leak somewhere but I wasnt sure exactly where it was coming from so I took at all off and installed it a 2nd time making sure to double check everything. The second time was a charm, it now runs perfectly. I havent really gotten to drive it too much yet so I wont make any guesses about power gains. I will be taking it back to the dyno in a couple weeks to see the gains ( hoping for some gains at least ). Like I mentioned before in a previous thread, if you are planning to install this thing consider these things...
1. It will NOT fit with a stock 1.6L Throttle body unless you get the FM TB spacer used in their 1.8 swap kits. I would assume the 1.8L TB may fit since its TPS isnt such a large whore like the 1.6L's. 2. Stock 1.8L fuel rail doesnt fit without having to bend some of the metal fuel lines attached to the rail. 3. There is no spot for a PCV valve ( and im currently not running one although I plan to put one back on ). 4. The throttle cable needs to be played with a little bit because there is too much slack even fully adjusted tight. Here are some pics, I think it looks great in black since I have a black theme in my engine bay:) |
needs dyno results ;)

Looks pretty good Andy. Hopefully it will make gobs of power! You certainly have a ton of hoses and such over by the intake.

-Michael- LOL right, thats because all the vacuum lines come off the bottom on the manifold and there is nowhere else to run them that I can see. I have a ton of stuff that needs vacuum on the left side of the engine bay;) |
move over abs, there's somethin meatier.
looks good. |
i cant wait to see dyno results.. that looks sweet andy

wow im loving your enigine bay man....reallly clean and nice..cudos points
|
so other than the three things you mentioned.... install was pretty straightforward?
did you have to mess with your IC piping at all to make it fit? |

did you have to mess with your IC piping at all to make it fit? the throttle body sits lower and closer to the headlight now. All it took was cutting a little bit off of an ic pipe to shorten it. 15min and that was all it took. It took me 2 hours the 2nd time and 6 hours the first time...its not really too bad. |
wow looks pretty clean, yet nice and mean, i love it.
i love when everything looks so clean and simple, not all these lines and pipes going everywhere. |
Nice. Looks clean

Looking good! :bigtu:
dyno = new power numbers new power numbers - old power numbers = power gain power gain/price = you are going to make us all want one :) |
Very clean.

mine was 310. That price is only good for the rest of this month, then who knows what they will cost. |
how much more peak power will this actually make? or will it really affect the powerband?
|
Get a vacuum manifold.
