Default best water line material??

Please link if I missed something, but I didn't find anything too useful searching.

Ive been using rubber fuel hose, and had good luck with that with a "fire shield" silicon sleeve over that.

An fittings and braided line worth the effort??

I bought silicon heater hose, and it could be perfect if found small enough.

Rubber lines rated for fuel are the most resistant to degrading and work great. Yes, fire sleeve is a good addition if near hot stuff, for a less expensive option you can also use the resin coated woven stuff that is insulating but not designed to resist flame (since that's not so necessary for a water line vs. oil line).

Braided SS line is great, but only makes sense if you're doing custom stuff and will be doing AN lines anyways. The rubber line will work just fine, cost much less, and doesn't require modifying your oem line attachements. There are adapter fittings for a beaded hose end to AN fitting, but you're just adding failure points for little benefit at that point.

Don't waste time/money on silicone.

Straight silicone tubing is too fragile, but I've had good luck with the multi-layer reinforced stuff that they sell at mcmaster.

I'm pretty sure JasonC SBB is using copper refrigerator lines for years. Would nice to year an update on that. I checked up on that about a year ago and he said they were still fine.
