Default Bipes ACU & MSD boost controller together - does not look right

I bought a used 95 miata that already had an old FM1 turbo kit (Corky Bell's System 4) on it. The previous owner put a Bipes ACU on it as well. I was under the hood today and saw this "MSD Mazda Miata Boost Controller" hidden back on the firewall (under the wiper motor). The only reason I can think of is that he was running 12psi and wanted the Bipes for better retarding and just forgot to remove the MSD. It is most definitely wire into the engine (I think it is right into the wiring of the CAS connector). My understanding is that the Bipes ACU does the same thing only better (3 maps for retard adjustments). I looked on line for any installation guides (MSDignition) - no luck, probably too old of a unit. I want to remove the MDS Boost Controller but uncomfortable hacking away.

Need some technical advice.

Thanks,
JB

Pulling the MSD box is easy. Just a few wires. The power and ground wires will be just vampire clipped. Leave the vampire clips intact, but cut the power and ground wires going to the MSD. The MSD then also intercepts the CAS signal wire. You'll see the signal wire is cut and runs to an "in" and to an "out" on the MSD. Snip out the MSD's leads and reconnect the CAS wire together with a butt connector. Tape everything up real nice, unscrew the MSD from the firewall, and put it in the classifieds.

You also might want to make sure that it's not the msd unit with the RPM bipes attachment. check out this site to make sure. I think that they have instalation instructions to. http://frontiernet.net/~dbipes/miatamain.html
