Bolt holding plate (oem NISSAN)

They are in the middle of the pic, just right from the manifold to turbo gasket.
Instal: Onbolt the nuts, Instal plate with 90degree facing turbo foot, instal nuts again.
Fold tabs against nut (so they cannot backout.)

I've used them on my SR20DET before and never had a bolt back out.
However, one thing to note is that the piece is made for 8mm studs and will not work with 10mm studs.

I ve used a greddy set... Nothing more to say...
Now with FM washers... No problems..
I think this is a perfect (cheap) solution..

Savington 07-20-2009 03:45 PM

Have you tracked your "solution"?

greddymx5 07-20-2009 04:01 PM

What do you mean?? (English is not my main language)

Found this setup on a friends car (greddy setup) and told me it's a oem nissan part.
Looks very good and stable. Thought i share it with you guys..

Change the thread title from "bold" to "bolt". No one can tell what you're talking about.

By "tracking your solution", Savington is asking if you've raced your car with this plate without the hardware backing out. Racing is when a lot of us are having problems.

This is the same design motorcycles have for rotor retention, as well as front sprocket lock washer, but that's just for one huge nut. I think a lot of us would have issues getting a tool in there to bend the tabs up.

Thanks curly...

No never raced the FM washers.. Only on the road..
Never tried the NISSAN locks... (going to buy them)

It's a good idea. I actually saw it on an SR20 last week in a shop. What it doesn't solve is the issue of expanding/stretching studs.

Very good pictorial how they work..

240_to_miata 07-20-2009 09:35 PM

I had them on my sr20 with great results.

I just posted this up in the bolt loosening thread a few weeks ago

Its prob a good option when you need only the washers.
sending only washers from the states to the Netherlands is a bit expensive.
Youre solution we can get at a local nissan dealership. :)

paNX2K&SE-R 07-21-2009 04:02 PM

I've been using them on my SE-R for a long time and never had an issue even on the track.

hustler 07-21-2009 05:02 PM

studs stretch. Kill yourself.

@ hustler:

Maybe it's better to try to find a sollution..
It's easy to crap on anotherone's treath.

Nissan is using them on all their turbocharged t25 cars... Maybe you are better then the engineers an nissan... At least they try...

18psi 07-21-2009 06:00 PM

/\ Don't take hustler too seriously. If you do you won't last here very long:)

I don't think you grasp the severity of the problems we have: We stretch the studs. This is not a mechanical fastening problem. This is a material problem. You may as well suggest Nordlocks.

18psi 07-21-2009 06:09 PM

I think many people on here (myself included) don't realize how huge the difference in stress is between regular driving and racing. You guys beat the living shit out of your cars on the track and push them to their limits, getting them many times hotter than we ever do driving our cars on the street.
