Default Can anyone identify this turbo?

I would really love to know what kind of turbo I have but no one can seem to tell me. Mine says AR 80 M24 L Garrett on the compressor and 49 N5S 54K H4 on the turbine. It uses that funky Misubishi T25 vertical flange on the manifold (the kind you always see on ebay for $200).

is there a serial number on the crha? it looks like it has a new cartridge.

in my opinion, it *looks* like a DSM t25 turbine with a different compressor housing.

has to what Kung Fu said it looks like the DSM T-25 but I can run into the garage and check. It could be a T-25 modd witha T-28 wheel, cause I think they change out the compressor housing when they would rebuild the T-25 to T-28.

Well after looking at my T-25 that I pulled off my old DSM when it was bone stock.

Here is the wording:
Compressor - "A/R .48 M10"
Exhaust - ".49 N58 474 Th"

I am going to ASSUME... based on what you giving us, you don't have the stock Compressor housing which makes me believe that you have a T-28, cause you Compressor A/R is massive different then mine but your exhaust hosuing is almost the same, effort to error on the side of they're the same.

You have a T-28... nice... well I guess that answer one of my questions I asked you on another post... now i just need to know the answer of when you hit boost.

Actually, based on my HP (201) and the fact that I run out of steam at 6500 RPM I would think I have a T25 and not a T28. The PO said that it was a rebuild and was a cross between a T25/T28. I believe the compressor is that side that is larger than before the rebuild but I don't know - still trying to solve the mystery. The PO was less than forthcoming with info on the turbo. For $350 I didn't argue with him!

Look at this picture to see my turbo next to an FM3 (that is for sale if anyone is interested <G>). The difference is huge:

Define "hit boost"? I see 13 PSI @ 4400 RPM - is that what you are asking?

I had a 95 Talon Awd which was stock when I got it, it had the stock t-25, I later upgraded to the 20G-TD06 and then sold that for money issues and then got a 14B which is a TD05.

As for your turbo, hmmm maybe someone replace your compressor housing but left the T-25 blade cause you housing is not the same as my stock T-25 turbo.

As for the boost question, yea that is what I was asking.

Thanks. Wish I could help more with the turbo.

That turbo is some kind of odd hybrid to be exact. I know my turbos, and that looks like it was put together with a Garrett compressor housing with what looks to be a T25 wheel. The turbine side looks like a mitsubishi piece with a 16G type discharge flange. You need closer pics of the compressor and turbine wheels. Then maybe we can find out some more.

Will do. I plan on pulling the turbo out this weekend so I might get a few pictures. Since my turbo is now smoking I might be getting my FM3 rebuilt and running that instead. Who knows...

I took several pics last night when I welded my manifold but you really cannot see anything different than what you can in my other pics. I guess I'll snap a few the next time I take it out (for the rebuild).

And you thought it was a good idea to dig up a 7 year old thread to do it?
