You buy an adapter. You need to do some searching, and read some of the build threads here.

They have flanged because theyre factory replacements for nissans

you can get adapters, or machine the flanged off and weld on bead rolled tubes, or just get a different turbo

On some turbos (lke the Chinachargers) they actually do weld on them.

On the Garretts, they simply buy them with the appropriate inlet.

Not sure about the 2560. It's an odd one. Might be a hybrid, using the compressor housing off a potato.

Way back in the day when begi & fm were still working together they would source their turbos from Limit Engineering. Limit would machine the flanges off. I got one of these old school GT2560R's by contacting limit directly (they will sell to whomever, I used to get my garrett stuff from them before becoming a tial dealer) and asking for it. It was an upcharge of about $50 I think, this was circa 2001 so they may not remember what you are talking about, and if they do they may not offer it anymore now that ATP and the chinese/ebay have the pretty adapters.

The most recent garrett turbos from BEGI I've seen have had round inlets welded to the flange. BEGI is very, very good at welding aluminum, it looks very pretty and makes more sense than machining the flanges round.

My chinacharger from BEGi had tubes welded on it like that. They did a nice job for sure, the tubes even were ribbed for her pleasure... I mean, for good coupler holding...

no its not going to be a bitch to plumb this turbo into a miata turbo, I did it my self, you just need the Nissan/Garrett adaptor that matchs the turbo :

** note, the set up is not done yet, but almost, his might give you an idea of the fitment

** forgot the factory inlet pipe, it's while I'm waiting for my 3" U-Bent

** same thing, forgot about the air filter, it's there until the Megasquirt is ready and tuned

Congratulations, You've just proven that it is indeed possible to fit a square peg into a round hole. Damn, dude...

Ok, so that photo is a little misleading. That is actually a photo of a GT2860 Disco Potato. Those turbos come with tube inlet and outlet. The GT2560's and GT2554's come with flanged outlets and we alter them as needed. All Chinese turbos are machined too. Some Garrett turbos do come with tube inlet and outlet, but very few, and usually only the larger ones.
Stephanie
p.s. sorry for the confusion.
