I was wondering if you guys could identify what turbo this is. The owner says he thinks it was from a 300zx datsun or nissan. If it is where can i find info on this turbo? If i went and looked at what would i look for to properly identify it?

Thanks,
Brooks

The flange would tell us more... but that does looks like a 300zx T3.

Depends on if it's blown and the condition of the wheels/housings.

There might be a small factory metal tab on it identifying the model... just need to take along a list to verify.
If it is from one of those cars and is original, then it's probably 20yrs old... definitely going to need a rebuild. Check to overall shaft play, wastegate flapper action, pull tension on the actuator.

Good luck getting it apart if it needs a rebuild. We're talking a couple days soaking in PB Blaster, a night in the freezer, and liberal application of a torch to get the turbine housing off the CHRA... if you can get the bolts out.

If it looks like it's going to be a pain, then you might pass unless it's only like $30... T3's are cheap and plentiful.
