I had to tighten the clamp in my return line, it's perfectly normal to leak oil if u add a new line and haven't checked it yet. Check the piece that's tapped into the pan too.

Find the leak. Don't put it off. It could be very minor or very major.

It is possible that there was some residual stuff from the install, but if it is actually dripping that sounds like a leak. Definitely check the oil lines. Leaks are usually pretty easy to spot.

check the drain line or inlet line. My clamps were tight on first install, but as they were breaking in I had to retighten.

Not bashing, but how long have you owned your car, how familiar are you with its operation, and how much skill do you have as a mechanic?

i have had the car a couple of years. i am mechanical minded and i have fixed or improved several things on the car. i am learning as i go..the turbo was something i have wanted to do and i understand how it works. thanks to all the information you guys have on this website. really has made me want to know more about this car and the drivability of it. plus all the things this car is capable of. i am a fast learner but i am not a mechanic. i have replaced starters and rebuilt them on a vw bug and have owned several motorcycles and repaired them before. but building an engine ,valve jobs, etc..no i have not but i am willing to learn..i probably need to get a repair book..that might be good.do you guys know any one i should by?

most auto parts stores carry a oil tracer dye. its just like a 2 oz bottle of fluid. pour it into your engine. drive around a lil and you should be able to spot the fresh leak with a UV light.

I would take it back to the mechanic that installed it and tell him it's leaking oil. He should be able to find it.

I agree with dustinb, have the mechanic check it out. Oil leaks aren't normal. If your engine compartment is CLEAN, you should be able to see a fresh leak. If your engine is BLACK and GOOEY with oil..... well...

If you decide to look for it yourself, be sure to check for the leak at it's HIGHEST and most FORWARD point on the engine. Oil leaks down and back.

I had a cam seal leaking and the oil blew back onto the oil return line. To the untrained eye it may have been pegged as a leak from the turbo setup.

CHEERS!

i believe it is comin from the oil pan. i have been searching and searching. the return line looks good all the lines seem to be fine..is it possible that it could shoot around down there? is there alot of oil pressure in the pan? maybe i need a new gasket
