Default Chinacharger - seal leak???

OK - I have been running the Chinacharger for about 4 months. Works well for the price. I did install this with a oil line restrictor and it was not leaking before I parked it for the winter ( once the salt hits the road its parked )

Due to the winter beater breaking down I needed to drive the miata. So... I dig it out of the snow bank, fire it up and let it idle for 15 min. As Im driving down the street, I notice im leaving a smoky oil cloud .. and I'm thinking I popped the turbo seal. Ok - parked it right away and bitched about ebay crap.

SO out of neccessity I start it again the next day and it doesnt smoke anymore. NADA .. and yes, it has oil

So question is..... what kind of seal is used on these turbos.... and do they dry out after long storage?

What kind of smoke? Simply white smoke is condensation (most likely) from not having driven it for a bit.
