I have a stock 1.6 which will be mated with the following:
  • garrett gt6041
  • auto mx5 cams
  • 440cc injectors
  • intercooler + various pipes
  • home made ms1 ecu
  • 6 speed gearbox
Anything im missing?

A GT6041 is larger than your entire engine...

You will also max those injectors out almost immediately with that turbo.

That turbo sounds like it's for a 6.0L diesel

Go find yourself a gt2560 and learn to trubo.

Thumbs down

Seems totally legit to me, especially on the free-revving 1.6L block. Don't let the toolbags on the forum dissuade you from your vision; the 440's will be just fine on the MS1 so long as you toss in a rising rate FPR. The intercooler could probably be pretty small since you'll be running the turbo so efficiently at reasonable lower boost.

Also, I bet you could just skip the wastegate and related actuator entirely. The silver lining to using a larger turbo on smaller displacement motors is they will inherently self-limit; you won't be able to overrun that turbo on your stocker 1.6L. Now, if later you decide to step up to a VVT head and cams, you might have to reconsider due to all the extra flow you'll have on tap.

(this IS a troll thread, right? RIGHT?)

$2,000 turbo, $200 obsolete MS1. Nice.

This could be going good for a fairly long time.. The 1.6 will never spool that big turbo so it will never be in boost
