Clutch Question!!

hey i was wondering what kind of cluch do i need for my turbo set up
i think i'm going to be running about 200 to 230 hp..

Braineack 11-05-2007 12:29 PM

the ACT XT kit would work.

mxdrift 11-05-2007 03:24 PM

what stage or is that the name?

magnamx-5 11-05-2007 03:25 PM

It is the name the Xtreme Duty From ACT

Stripes 11-05-2007 03:26 PM

ACT XT or Xtreme is the name.

Zabac 11-05-2007 03:30 PM

go XD or go home

Braineack 11-05-2007 03:32 PM

specifically the: 1.6L ZM1-XTMM or 1.8L ZM2-XTSS

you can buy it from FM for about $100-150 more than other shops!!!!

I'd look up carolina clutch.

mxdrift 11-05-2007 07:01 PM

oh i looked at the act xt 6 puck looks pretty nice it's just a little expensive

Braineack 11-05-2007 07:12 PM

you don't really need the 6-puck version which adds a bit of cost. prostreeonline.com and caroline clutch typically have the best prices.

or you can go for something from clutchnet. get the red PP with the yellow standard clutch disc, that should be plenty, save you bucks.

or the F1 6-puck kits on ebay for $150

FWIW
Prostreet has a sale going on right now. 10% off all ACT clutches/flywheels
http://www.prostreetonline.com/x/act...y-clutches.asp

mxdrift 11-06-2007 06:20 AM

got it thanks

Braineack 11-06-2007 08:34 AM

thye've had that sale for over two years now, when I first bought my clutch from them. however, I still think Carolina clutch beats them.

magnamx-5 11-06-2007 08:39 AM

When i got mine i got 10% off and free shipping :D a act XD for 307$ even

soflarick 11-06-2007 08:54 AM

What's the pedal feel with the XD? Is it a full face disk or a puck?

Braineack 11-06-2007 09:00 AM

HD = feels like stock, clutch engages close to the floor. can hold a good amount of torque on a 1.8L
XT = increased pedal effort. can hold almost anything you throw at it.

mxdrift 11-06-2007 11:01 AM

i'm looking for something that won't kill my calf but still be able to hold a decent amount of power

levnubhin 11-06-2007 11:20 AM

Im only at 7 psi, but my ebay F-1 clutch has held good since August.

mxdrift 11-06-2007 11:56 AM

i think i have an idea of what is going to be good for me
thanks guys

1redcanuck 11-06-2007 12:11 PM

Is there anyone using the ebay F1 @ 12psi with any success? Seems like a great deal if it lives up to the ad.
