mx03tb. i suggest you browse the F/IC forums and learn how to tuen the software yourself, or find a shop that can do it. otherwise i trust your next thread will be about your tailpipes smoking.

are you sure? i am only getting 271hp out of mine. :p

and also would i need a fuelpressure regualor or can i use the factory..plus my turbo won't go past 250 unless i want it to blow up it's a t25 sr20 turbo

instead of my buying a pump will getting a fuelpressureregulator fix the problem or would i be better by getting both pump and fpr

You do not need any more parts. You need a competent tuner who will spend some time with your car and use the piggyback unit you've already purchased to tune your car safely.

i drove the car again today it, running lean 10.0-11.6 third gear past 4grand and it would spit and loose boost!

Yeah - I was running a piggy (link) for years, no real issues. Loaded the base maps (weird you can't get them from AEM, but they don't have amazing miata support).

My question:
10.0-11.6 is LEAN? Sounds a bit on the rich side. Anything lower than 14.7:1 is rich. Often not too rich enough, but 10 is ALWAYS rich enough.

Taking it to a tuner will likely be your best bet, unless you really want to learn what you're doing. Then ask who on this board lives in florida and would help get you started for all the free beer they can drink.

jay my tuner said that aem hasnt come out with enough base maps for my car but in two to three weeks are going to and by then he told me i could bring the car back to him and the tuning would be done with in 30 minutes..also my car is wasting TOO much gas in a day i go almost half a tank really bad..

1. I offered to check out your map for you for free. My car runs nearly perfect.
2. F/IC doesnt see nor care about your fuel pressure, only duty cycle
3. If your car ran WORSE recirculated then that tuner doesnt know anything about tuning ANYTHING.
4. 10.0 - 11.6 is RICH, not lean.

If you spent an hour with the software yourself im sure you'd come to an understanding of how it works. I was able to tune mine without much trouble and I'm sure you could do the same. If there are bits of your tune that you're not happy about you're either gonna have to a) drive back to the tuner again, b) live with it, or c) fix it yourself. Me, I'd rather fix it myself. Maybe thats just me though....

Edit: the blank map it comes with IS the basemap. Just set the cells to adjust for the new injectors, then the car will run just like stock out of boost (assuming the BOV is recirculated), then it's a matter of adding a butt-load of fuel in boost, then driving and removing that fuel from where it's not needed.

just judging by these quotes, it sounds like tyou talk to a lot of mustang people.

your fuel pump supplies fuel. it can supply enough fuel.

you injectors squirt fuel. if they are too small, then you cannot fuel enough HP.

your F/IC can modify the fueling of the car. if it cannot get enough out of your injectors, upgrading a fuel pump will do nothing.

Getting an FMU will not fix the problem, the problem is your tune. If you get a FMU, you might as well remove the F/IC.

Your fueling issue has nothing to do with the boost pressure dropping.

mx03tb 01-10-2008 04:32 PM

so find some one who's can tune the fic
