Cx racing thick walled tubular t3 manifold

Has anybody seen this manifold floating around eBay and cx's website? Looks like a daily decent piece of craftsmanship. Any experience with this manifold or opinions?

idk... CX racing is known to make manifolds that come from Cracksville...
Im curious what THEIR definition of "thick walled" is...
for the most part, we all avoid ebay manifolds around here... lol

we have a thread about this already

Redheadedstepchild 05-05-2014 05:10 PM

I completely understand the reason to avoid china manifolds lol. It's hard to know if the batch that your buying from is decent quality material or utter garbage. It appears to be better quality then the shorty manifolds out. And the listing states 304 stainless. List price is $450. I don't want to be the guinea pig on this. For that price a known reputable fabricator like Abe can make a reliable manifold. Might be worth a shot if the quality is durable and will hold up to abuse well.

18psi 05-05-2014 05:12 PM

they're all 304 stainless

Redheadedstepchild 05-05-2014 05:12 PM

18psi do you have the link? I spent some time searching and kept getting hits for crx intercooler setups or the crappy "shorty" manifolds.

Redheadedstepchild 05-05-2014 05:14 PM

Damn autocorrect keeps sub-ing "crx" for "cx" >:(

Thank you sir!

I still think its legit and will work at least for a few years without any extra bracing. Its from the American development portion of CXracing that makes other pimpy looking manifolds for cars and tons of decent looking v8 swap kits. There's like two lines of stuff from CXracing. The shitty normal ebay stuff and the designed in the USA made in china stuff that is pretty darn decent.

And to be fair there still wasnt any info in those threads and if he'd bumped either one you all'ed be up his ass.

18psi 05-05-2014 06:27 PM

do we have exact specs on the material used?

Leafy 05-05-2014 06:33 PM

Yes, 1.5" od 10ga 304ss. which is in between sch10 and sch40 in thickness and in between 1.5" pipe and 1.25" pipe in diameter.

Fireindc 05-05-2014 07:25 PM

Looks a ton better than the normal ebay trash floating around. However, $450 will put you damn near a quality tubular manifold, so why bother?

18psi 05-05-2014 07:31 PM

Last time I talked to Abe his nice sidemount with EWG was 550.
I would a million times over give my money to him then CXgaycing

Ryan_G 05-05-2014 07:34 PM

A comparible manifold from abe would be closer to $750 based on my last quote for a ramhorn. This is significantly cheaper. That being said my turbo is currently with Abe for one of his proven setups.

shlammed 05-06-2014 08:46 AM

that looks like it would be a nightmare for a downpipe fab and the intake would be pointing straight into the headlight motor on NA's.

if there is a picture of one on, I wouldn't mind seeing to re-evaluate.

Braineack 05-06-2014 08:53 AM

I got something thick for you...

From their facebook

Internal WG t3. They are saying $1500 with IC and turbo.

I'm pretty sure I paid Abe $500 shipped for my side-mount EWG manifold....

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1399382307

And swaintech coated...

I don't think its fair to compare the two manifolds considering one is a top mount long tube and the other is a side mount axial. Abe also makes top mount long tubes and they are significantly more expensive that $500 shipped. Lets keep it apples to apples. I am not saying that this CX racing one is necessarily on par with Abe's manifolds in either flow or durability but we really don't know unless someone tries one. I would like to see more constructive discussion about this manifold then nut hugging on Abe and shitting on CX racing because of their ebay shit.
