Sorry guys, for some reason I didnt get any post notifications...

Anyway, But the DP/Turbine housing back...also got all the misc parts I needed (correct wg bracket, different actuator, some more clamps, oil feed fitting for turbo, etc). And lastly, seems like I got scammed outta my money with the BOV...:vash: In-laws are finally gone, and hoping to have a real productive weekend...I'll keep the few of you still reading this posted!


Ben,(and others) I was thinking of heading the same route, lightest stuff I can afford, but I wanted to make sure there were no drawbacks to it on a turbo car...I dont plan on having to change clutch/flywheel for a long time hopefully, so long as it holds up...def not for preference...

Lastly, did you guys see the MS PNP for 94+ are finally out??? I still haven't done anything with that yet, but I'm still highly considering paying Brain to build me one...

Needed a good day and I got 1...Planned my steps before doing it, kept focused and tried to think twice and do once....And it paid off-!

Put the fuel dual feed rail/injectors back in....smoooth, no torn o's and got it in 1 careful attempt!

Put my turbo back together, and cleaned/reclocked it and got everything torqued down for good...

Got the manifold permanently..... installed every bolt tightened/all test fitting completed/egr fitting/bent back heater hose/etc...

Got the WG & wg bracket sorted out and installed on the turbo...also got my banjos on & oil feed done....

Did my coolant lines to/fro turbo

Got the upper half of the DP all torqud down on the turbo...
Figured out best way to install the DP/Wb02..

So all in all a good day...Next projects include oil drain line/tapping, dp+wb02 install, and a lil more SHOPPING:gay:

I finally found a guy who has the bolts i need to install the oil rain flange, just been really lazy to go take the trip...But I WILL go this week, because thats the only thing between me and tapping the pan...Also I need to get on the MS, and clutch badly..., and lastly if I can I'll look or a decent dual gauge pod holder....and sadly enough, the very 1st DiY part I ordered
2+MONTHS AGO:eek: the Hks BOV for $120 was a total SCAM!!!!:nono:
So I need to get on that too so I can install the IC pipes for good...

At least I can say that I'm def getting thru the install good...Don't wanna jinx it, but I think if the tap goes smoothly, everything else should get completed nicely and pretty quick...

I'm even considering selling my precious 350z roadster...I and evry1 LOVES that car, but I def put some quality parts and am doing a decent job, so if the results are as good as I hope, I my not need a $600 payment to get my ''thrills''....we'll see

****On topic question, to whoever is still following along... My oil drain fittings are NOT 1/2" NPT, but more like 3/4" (Home Depot guy measured at like .77")...can the larger size cause any issues?? I'm guessing for the actual drain LINE it'd be fine, overkill maybe, but I can't see why it'd be a bad thing. The FITTING/TAPPING into the pan is more of what I was wondering...

1/2" NPT does not mean it measures out at 3/4". NPT will always measure out larger. It could still be 1/2" NPT. I'm pretty sure NPT measures the I/D of the pipe so the I/D of the fitting should be close to 1/2".

Thats the thing, I have a 1/2" NPT tap, and its significantly smaller than the fitting. Actually the tap can almost fit THROUGH the fitting...

The guy at HD measured the diameter of the threaded part of the fitting...Had some kind of digital instrument that looked like pliers...I can't think of the fancy name of it right now. Lookled like pliers and when he squeezed around the fitting it read .77

Sounds like he was using a vernier caliper. Jackass should have just read the labels on the packaging.

I think I may have not explained myself well enough when I asked the question...

I ordered the fitting from WOT which is where I got all the other misc stuff from (couplers/pipes/& all turbo fittings). I went to home depot, asking for a tap big enough for the fitting, and told the guy I think its supposed to be
1/2" NPT...He measured it and said no it's probably 3/4" b/c it measured .77 at the threads. I got home, and happened to find a 1/2"NPT tap, when I compared the fitting to the tap, I was able fit the tap INTO the fitting, proving it's def not 1/2NPT.

So my question is, will using a fitting larger than 1/2" be an issue for the drain pan (clearance or something else?), and does anyone happen to know where I could look for a tap that big? I'm thinking a plumbing supply place or something, but before I go nuts, wanted to know if any issues could arise...

You can use a fitting larger than 1/2". The oil drain is gravity fed so it doesn't matter. It would be easier for you to just get a 1/2" NPT fitting that matches the rest of your parts. You already have the tap, that's the hardest thing to get.

That was an idea I was entertaining as well...Maybe they have something like a 3/4" to 1/2" reducer fitting??

I'm using SS drain line, and it already has the female part of the line made for the larger fitting.

I think I'm gonna find a decent plumbing supply place, and bring them the line, fitting, and tap. See if there's such a thing as the "reducer fitting", or maybe they can change 1 end of my line to fit 1/2" NPT, and then I can get a 1/2" NPT...And if not, at the very least they should have the 3/4" tap i would hope

I just wanted to make sure that I could use a larger fitting, in case i found the tap 1st...I think I may have to buy an expensive tap SET, and just return it if I cant find the above...
