Do I have to clock this turbo????
4 Attachment(s)
So in looking at how the turbo will mount to the manifold I have it seems to me that the oil lines are almost at vertical as is. Is this good or do I need to clock it? The drawing with the circle represents the angle the lines are at as is.

yes.
didnt even have to make the pics bigger :gay: |
Would i work as is? Probably be just fine.
Having said that, I would clock it now while it's off the car. Do it. |
at even 10° off vertical (which is the accepted maximum tilt) i was having bad oil drainage issues.....
considering you are about 150° off :gay: i'd assume it needs a good rotation.... if you need directions, look for the "diy projects" thread in the diy seciton. |
Oh, look at that. :)
Yeah, you have to clock it if the feed's on the botttom.. |
Ahhh see I didn't know one was feed and one was drain I thunk either could be either ;) I am not very smart, glad I have help!
|
nope, feed is the little 1/8" threaded hole...the the drain is the bigger smooth-squared hole.
|
Where's the clocking directions in the DIY? I see the rebuild part but you didn't really detail the clocking part is it pretty self explanatory?
|
Yes. Loosen bolts and or snap ring, turn housings to appropriate position. Reassemble.
|
Make it 100% vertical.. take away any foults...
Make a new bracket for the wastegate. Exhaust side: just loosen the bolds and turn...(be carefull for the blades) 1 Intake snapring: remove, turn, place back. (old style t25) 2 Intake bolds: undo all 2 turns, then turn. (new style t25) |
