Does this mean it's time for a rebuild
2 Attachment(s)
I'm just in the first test driving stages of my new turbo install and I have a oil leak. I took some pictures of what I think is the leak but I need advice. I have a few other minor leaks but this one has got me concerned. The oil on the turbo produces an awful lot of smoke. Rebuild? I've also got an exhaust manifold leak that i'm trying to deal with. Man this things takin a while..

I don't have anything restricting the flow and it's coming from a sandwich plate off the oil filter. I'll try that next. Thanks.

try an oil restirctor on the line, and make sure you crankcase breather is routed correctly. if that doesn't solve it then a rebuild may be in order.
|
Definitely use a restrictor. I have a Function 7 one lying around for a T3 if your iterested.

Damn, I just ordered one from JGS Precision Turbo for way too much money.

That was it! It works fine now. :) :) :) :) Now, what's the most boost I can run on my stock 96 injectors? 9psi too much?
|
your injectors should be good for about 190rwhp at 100-110psi or so of fuel. So 7-8-9psi is nearing the limits, depending on your setup. I was personally seeing fairly good results around 7-8psi, 9-10psi wasn't good.
