He shows a socket-to-drill adapter in that picture too. He just used the socket so he could use the extension to be able to use the drill from outside the car.

due you can drill in the middle by the motor mount to it is not that hard and makes routeing stuff easier

That is actually a good point. I did the same thing. The pan is so thin that the drilled hole axis can be at an angle relative to the tap. Drill at an angle, tap it straight. That being said, do not go overboard with the drill angle.

How do you get into there? Also, isnt the baffle in the way?
