Just bought a turbo miata, previous owner ran too much power.
Hello everyone, I purchased a turbo Miata that was put into storage because of too much power causing the engine to have cylinder rattle/knocking.
The previous owner claims to have been producing 372 hp at 16psi on stock engine, which i am skeptical about hearing. He was also not using an air filter into the turbo. After taking it to my garage I found that something must have gotten into the turbo because the wheel was a bit messed up, which leads me to think that something also got into the engine which might be why there is cylinder rattle.
T70 turbo
305 Injectors
Walbro 190
Greddy EMB (with no usb/serial communication cable)
6 puck clutch
OBX manifold
Ebay intercooler
So my question is, is it worth fixing?
Also note that I do want this to be done right, so I will be getting a new downpipe, hopefully MS if I can save up, and intake will definitely be fixed.
I haven't heard much about T70 turbo on Miatas but it does seem quite large.
It does run, enough to get on and off a trailer. I was thinking about just rebuilding the turbo and the engine so it runs and then tune it way down to 8 psi. I also have pictures from when I looked at it.

^^ I like the oil feed going over top of the engine. haha
lolol. Poor car...
That thing MAYBE made 200hp. Even that is doubtful.
Hope you didn't pay very much for it. Best of luck.

Which is probably why you were dumb enough to buy that tub of crap that is literally worth no more than scrap metal.
You won't get the car to run reliably without replacing like 90% of all that stuff and dumping weeks maybe months of work undoing all the retardation done to that poor car, and spend the equivalent of a proper miata and proper setup. It is so much more than "messy", it is not even in the same realm.

You're still not understanding what we're saying.

Kind of a picture tutorial of things not to do.
I like the evidence that the charge pipes once went over the radiator. Not that there is anything wrong with over-the-top, but shows this is likely the second go around.
What does the rest of the car look like? Possibly replace the engine and have a car?
