EBC question....
Are there any electric boost controller thats have RPM dependant boost? Im sure there are but I just dont know about them. The reason I ask is because I want to run more boost on the topend and slightly less under 4500. At 16psi and 4500rpm I am at 12.2 AFR's and by the time Im at 5200rpm Im at 10.9 AFR's. Since I have an FPR setup I am stuck with this fuel curve...the only way to lean it out on the topend is to run more boost. I figure I can get it to about 11.8 AFR's on the topend with about 18-19psi of boost, and make more power too.

I think you can do this kind of boost regulation with Megasquirt as well ?!
I don't have experience with the Apexi but my friend that runs RX-7s uses them in all his cars and says the boost/RPM function is great.

My thought also, as the same can be done with emanage etc. Use a map to trigger a boost solenoid. The Apexi is a great solution, but if you plan to upgrade from the Bipes to a standalone or piggyback ECU, then you might want to wait and invest in the ECU first.
But andyfloyd is definately going EMU, and it is still a little cheaper than the apexi ebc.

yeah andy, spend that dough on the engine management that has boost control built in. any of them worth their salt will allow you to set an RPM target--even the link I think.
If he upgrades to EM, he won't need to lean out the top by running more boost. He could just, well, lean out the top. He might run more boost anyway, but I'm just saying.

I was kinda thinking that I could keep my ghetto FMU setup and just use the boost controller to increase boost after 5200rpm....or I could do the right thing and get some form of engine management and just run boost control from that. I dunno, who all has used the EMU's boost controller function and how well does it work?

My new standalone takes care of the boost stuff so I don't need it anymore.
