Hello,
I cant read anything about the constructiv problem to the much bigger wastgate flap of the EFR TS housings.because of this bigger area in comparison to SS wastgate flap the exhaust pressure opens the flap much more easy which causes lost in boost pressure.even stock high boost accuator for EFR turbos do not resolve this problem.thats the reason why many EFR applictions work mutch better with the turbosmart dual port accuator with the MAC 4 Port valve because of the higher force whtch prevents opening the wastgate flap.So to compare TS vs SS it needs this saver wastgate appliction. moreover TS T4 0.80 has faster spool up even faster than the SS 0.64 housing but a little less endpower because of the defined strokes to the turbin wheel.you cant compare the construction an size of a TS housing even Borgwarners big T4 to SS housing T4 aplications. on small engines SS T4 will spool mutch later.moreover the exhaust gases on TS aplictions are more friendly and so the whole system will be not that thermal charged.if you need quick spool aplication for quicker respons and for more and earlyier torque even with stock camshafts than TS is the right desition.For drag racing and or Autobahn racing aplications you should choose big SS housings which causes quick spool up but will result in high endpower.
