Default EFR Disassembly Guidance

I need to take my brand new EFR6258 apart to have the exhaust housing ceramic coated, and drill the speed sensor hole through in the compressor housing. Maybe it's just too obvious to even mention, but I can't find any information on how these things come apart. On the exhaust side, how do you remove the wastegate valve and pivoting arm? After that it looks like you just loosen the 4 bolts and spin the tabs holding the housing on, then slide the housing over the turbine wheel, being careful to bump the housing into one of the blades, thereby destroying the turbo.

The compressor side maybe looks easier. Just take the V-band clamp off and you are done? I built the engine in the car, so I'm not totally incompetent, but I've never messed with a turbo before at all, so any tips are appreciated.

Good gawd dont chip or break a blade. It's a 900 dollar repair.

But yea, it's just the v band.

Thanks, I read your thread about that. I actually just got off the phone with South East Power Systems. The conclusion is that the wastegate arm cannot be removed, its welded after assembly, so I'll call Swaintech and see if they are ok with masking it off.

As is the case for most turbos, so they shouldn't have a problem. For future reference, the EFR Training Manual is a good resource, found here. In the drop down, select "Performance Turbos" and it's at the bottom of the page.
