Default ETD Shorty Manifold wastegate fitment issues

I've searched the forums and the only person that I've found to have issues with wastegate fitment issues was mightymouse (using a v-band 44mm) Attached are some shitty phone cam pics of my issue. Has anyone else ran into this issue with 38mm Tial WG fitment?

I realize that the turbo clocking is all dicked up but I wanted to see how the turbine housing would clear.

Looks like your going to need to cut the lip. A lot of others here have done it for clearance issues just like yours.

I was thinking about that but I would have to cut a shelf into the body if I wanted to use the barb on the top of the wastegate which is crazy! you'd figure for $550 the piece would have better fitment that this.... I mean this ain't some ebay piece.

Here's the manifold and wastegate they sold me several years ago:

turbo not hit block, but wastegate hit head.

I'm waiting to hear back from them via email... I don't dig the fact that I have to pay to call Canada to report a problem I shouldn't have

It's the only manifold out there for 1.6l that has external waste gate flange. I don't want internal.

I ended up Cutting the wastegate tube and tigged it in the correct position, no fitment issues now.

Glad you got this fixed.. We would have placed in back in the jig to check our fabricators work and corrected if it was out. I've had zero issues with the shorty manifolds when using the 35mm WGs.

Thanks Marc. I was l out of town when John called. ETD was extremely helpful with wanting to fix the issue but it was in my best interest to just mod the manifold. It took 15 minutes. I'm totally happy with the product. If my schedule would have worked with getting the manifold back to etd I would have done so. I gotta say that ETD's customer service its top notch. Thanks again Marc.
