Exhaust hangers

Are there any good, cheap options for hanging the exhaust under the car besides the stock rubber pieces?

My 2.5" exhaust seems to swing quite a bit and around sharp corners actually hits on things so I'm looking for something a little stiffer I think that will serve the same purpose. Any ideas?

I just added a universal rubber strap type hanger with the holes in it. It has a lip riveted on to accept a muffler clamp. I got it from Advance Auto for a couple bucks. I bolted it sideways to one of the holes in the rear sbuframe right above the rear lower control arm and muffler clamped it to the midpipe. Eliminated the side to side movement as it can't stretch or compress the rubber strip while still letting the exhaust hang on the stock hangers. Worked great. I have 2 1/2" as well. If you can't figure it out I can snap a pic.

This sounds perfect, but I am having trouble picturing it so if you get a chance a couple snapshots would be great.

Will do, hopefully tonight. They don't look anything like those above.

I like the poly hangers you can pick up at RavenWing for about $8 each.
They don't sag with a stainless muffler, but fit the stock mounts.

Here is a pic of the hanger that I used. You can see the rubber strap with holes and where I bolted it to the subframe. The hole in the subrame is already there. I cut off the excess strap. The strap is about 6" long originally. The bent metal tab that is riveted to the strap is captured by the muffler clamp. It is curved to capture the radius of the pipe. Sorry, but I live on a gravel road and the underside of my car is a mess from the mud.

This part had me rolling "Or have your old hangers become flexi-flyers and now your Miata's exhaust system flops around like a Yo-Yo on acid?"

I use a worm clamp arount one of my rear hangers to pull the exhaust away from the car... Works like a charm to stiffen things up< and I'm sure you have one layin around!
