Does anyone have any pics of a Vortech or paxton FMU with the 10:1 or 8:1 plates in it? I am going to make the plates and parts to change the ratio of mine, and id like to see some pics of the various parts. So if anyone has them please put them up.. THANX!:eek5:

easy yes, cheaper, no.. i like to make stuff.. plus from what i have seen, im pretty sure its just a ring and a disk.. not a lot there

it is jus a ring and disc. you can also get the exact diameters of each disc ratio, somewhere burried on vortechs website. it's on the install instructions as well but I through them away.

It's basically a thin washer, and a ring. the ring has a small section cut out for air to pass through.

2.47" Dia for the 10:1

if u are going to use the 8:1 disk, do do you have to install the 10:1 and the 8:1 ring?

well from what i can tell, the only real change here is the dimeter of the disk, and that changes how much pressure that is applied by the Diaphragm, whitch in turn changes the rate at that fuel pressure is increased. Im going to try a solid disk no ring, and im going to put a small flat head bolt through the plate and into the plunger, insted of using the ring to hold the disk in place. I will let you know how it works out.

The rings keep the discs in place and limit the amount of pressure to the surface size of the disc. Without the rings, the discs will transmit more pressure.

I dont understand how the rings change the ammount of pressure going to the disk..

If the rings limit the exposure of the diaphram to the disc, it will only transmit the pressure equal to that surface area. If that limit is not there, the diaphragm will stretch around it and pull the disc down with additional force.
