Hey guys come follow along on my turbo build, it started off as me getting a BasketCase aka her name now is BasketCase but it was completely apart and i put her back together she was missing quite the plethra of parts but now is my daily...for now i didnt get a lot of footage of me putting the car back together but i plan on keeping the build a lot more consistent. <spam redacted>

You already broke rule #1.

Dont start a build around some random oversized turbo.

I'm pretty sure it is a 7.3 diesel turbo.

Does that make it a desirable turbo for a 1.6L gasoline engine?

I might be wrong but i think that turbo is made for a motor that's 4 and a half times bigger than the one in your miata. Good luck spooling it though.

Yes as i said im pretty sure it is for a 1998ish 7.3 diesel, i got it for 70$ im going to run it just to see for kicks i have a bet with a few friends that i think itll make positive pressure for sure im not saying it will make much or even be very good at it but part of it is me just wanting to see if it will. Plus i already have a different turbo coming in anyway. biggest thing im stuck on is if im going to do the speedunio pnp or not.

I guess you want your car to run like a 1998ish 7.3 diesel!

I love when people know their build plan is ****, but say: I want to see how this **** setup will run anyway.

Problem is just to see how this **** will run costs thousands and/or hundreds of labor hours welding a custom manifold/downpipe and ewg. Then even if it works, it's still a **** setup, and you can't even swap a proper turbo, since the setup is custom made for the **** turbo.

Usually 2 thing happed. With the same outcome.
1. You give up on the build and part out car.
2. You succeed with the build, boost it, blow it up in a week, and then part out car.

Part out force is strong with this one.

Haha well t4 manifold isnt going to be that bad, i already have another turbo in mind knowing this one isn't going to work properly. The down pipe and stuff is going to be about the same so it will most likely be swap able and realistically i'm not spending that much in parts that i wont be able to interchange. Also 5.0 swapping a 1989 datsun z31 with a 5.0 so the turbo will still be used if not for this build. Even if i blow the motor up i can just sell the ecu for a little recoop some of my money and use the wideband/gauge for the other build so don't fret friend it is going to be okay.......hopefully Lmao!

Oh, you already know it's not going to work properly? You should definitely waste time, effort, and money on it, then.
