fook is this what the internals of a chinacharger might look like?
|
is that all you do is link BS shit? page 12 made me lol at bent rod.... helps if your horizontal line is level with surface.
|
well spotted i agree with you.
because iam trying to research as much as possible anything i feel is relevant to other newbies on here i post up its not doing any harm is it? |
Need an independent source to file something like this to be believable.
|
I love my chinacharger. I wouldn't go back to Garrett unless it was a killer deal.
|
That report looks pretty amateur
|
Sample size of 1?
|
If you want an unbiased opinion on quality, search out one of the chinacharger threads here from people who have actually run them.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Garrett but believing you'll get an unbiased opinion from a comparison probably sponsored by Garret, done by a Garrett distributor is like asking a crackhead his opinion on drug use in America. |
1. I can almost guarantee some poor intern was assigned this task. Has my work written all over it.
2. This is an EXCELLENT how-to for the Chinese on how to improve the quality of their turbochargers. I support this study... |

well played. |
China turbos will make the dose.
/thread |
LOL^^ Never mention that stupidity ever again please. Im buying a churbo when my Garrett eventually goes
|
Page 25 makes me sad.
|
The pictures on 5 crack me up, the "dirty" picture is so much darker, you can't even see the bottom of the manifold.
|
'Cool analysis/comparison. Thanks for posting.
Page 29 is pretty amazing, seeing the compressor wheel and how its not 100% circular. Page 38 is amazing as well, looking at the oil journals. The filing of the oil journal looks terrible. I could do better than that in my garage! Hehe. |

Looks like they are using different shutter exposures between the two photos, and the reman is photographed with a flash, whereas the oem is not. |

So then I wanted to check my ebay turbo, all i had was pictures, and sure enough when i drew a circle around the compressor wheel, it's not a true circle!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! MY shit is not round! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1282140110 :jerkit: :noob: |

Some of the responses remind me of how people react when they've been snoped; blame the messenger. Sure it's a Garrett report, and sure Garrett has an ax to grind, but if you own a chinacharger you've got your own ax to grind too. The chinachargers and re-manufactured units might work just fine, but I doubt they'll be as durable and trouble free as a newly manufactured turbo from any quality manufacturer. It's a bit like comparing Racelands with Bilsteins. They both work, you can find advocates for both, but they're probably not built to the same tolerances. Are they worth the difference in cost; that's a judgment call. |
I don't know who this "Reman" company is, but I like their style.
|
no one loled at my compressor wheel :(

Everyone knows oval shaped compressor wheels are more efficient

I also drew a circle around my balls this morning, and HOLY SHIT they're perfectly round:eek5: I need to send china a picture of my balls so they can perfect their compressor wheel design |

Thank you Brain. |
See that's what I love most about this forum:
The regulars aren't god damn lemming panzies like OP. They actually do their own research and make their own conclusions/opinions about different parts and technologies instead of just opening up some biased ass bullshit link made by a company that's losing their sales to replicas. . I feel so at home:D |
My chinacharger is for sale now after reading this........ to buy a bigger one.
