Front Shroud and Bellypan Coolant Temp Results

Here's some proof a belly pan and front shroud are worth having on a turbo miata. Both of these runs were logged when the car was driven for at least 30 minutes on an 80 degree day. You'll notice the coolant temp actually drops 2 degrees when the belly pan and front shroud are installed. Two degrees probably sounds minor, but I'm sure you would see better results on the track.

looking back on a 25min datalog:

highway driving, 160*F in and out of boost. Only starts rising as I idle, then hits 185* and the fans kick on and it quickly drops back to 160* as soon as it gets a tiny bit of airflow.

shit...I wonder why my coolant temps are so much higher than yours. I've never had a problem with overheating. I thought I was on the right track when I saw the temp go down while accelerating. What's an acceptable temperature range?

Nevermind, I found one of your posts that answered my question.

Looks like my temperature readings are normal.

Yup as I was suggesting in that thread there isn't something right with the way some of the MS setups are reporting coolant temp.

Stripes, I don't think there is anything wrong with your temps.
