Full tilt interfooler!
So yesterday me and full tilt finally both had a free day to get things done and were able to knock out notching my block which ive been putting off way to long and we got the intercooler put on his car after a bit of a wait on that as well.
Im sure he will be around soon to post picks but i dont have any and i suck with cameras anyway. TOM! Get some pics! |
I haz no batteries for my camera
But Ill take some asap You should snap some pictures of the block notching We took it out for the first inercooled test ride last night at about midnight and promptly blew both charge pipes off, which was pretty exciting. Even more reason to work on an MS, so if that happens again the car will still run and I wont have to fix it on the side of the road like we did last night. |

welcome to the "over the rad" family:)

Yah, I had it easy, I bought everything already made from some guy on ebay. I think he used to be a member on here several years ago.
The cold side piping is touching the radiator, which makes me a little concerned that it will rub a hole in it. So I may remake it, which will also allow me to add a Greddy type-s falnge so I can run a BOV that doenst suck (I.e. Forge motorsports) |
Looks pretty awsome. Nice work.

The functionality of the bov is fine, its just the pita way its mounted and it does not look the best hanging by heater hose. I think he wants something more hardmounted with maybe just one hose coming from the end.

Yah should have been more clear
Its not really the BOV's fault, I think it was designed as a factory replacement for an Audi. But on my setup its a pain, took us half an hour to sqeeze a 3/4" ID peice of heater hose over the end of the 1" OD inlet of the BOV, haha. Which one are you running 18psi? Im thinking of getting a Greddy Type-S knockoff like this, JDM TYPE RS S TURBO BLOW OFF VALVE BOV BYPASS CIRCULATE : eBay Motors (item 200442750510 end time Feb-27-10 17:54:39 PST) and have it hanging off the bottom of the cold side pipe, with a piece of heater hose going over to the turbo inlet, then when I ditch the AFM I can just take the hose off and vent to amto. |
No idea what its called, but here:

Looks good congrats

Good to see more Jax members getting their cars sorted.

I'm sorry in advance if I end up hijacking this thread but did you have to space your rad to get clearance for the IC piping? I have an ungodly amount of piping for my setup and would love to do an over the rad IC.
|
found 18psi's build thread... got it.
|
18 did it a littler differently than I did.
All I did was remount the lower radiator brackets to the same holes used for the sway bar bracket, which lowers it down a few inches. The I tilted it back a little with the brackets. 18 moved the whole thing backwards which requires lowering the sway bar brackets too. |
Lowering swaybar brkts
''which requires lowering the sway bar brackets too.''
Wouldn't that change steering geometry??????? Luigi. |
It wouldnt change the geometry, but it would change the effectiveness of the sway bar.
