The other day I went to re route my oil feed line and the banjo bolt snapped . I ordered a new one from kinugawa. And the main concern I have is the hole in the bolt . The new one is way smaller than the one that was on it. Just wondering if I should leave the new one at the size its at or drill it out . Let me know what you guys think thanks

Are they a bad place yo buy from I was in a rush to find one. And just ordered it. It looks like a pretty solid bolt just the hole is that small . Just wondering if it is going to restrict to much oil

Erat 06-04-2014 07:03 PM

I've never seen anything good from that ebay brand.

Oil to the turbo should be restricted.
Weather or not that's to much, i dunno.

Didn't even know they from eBay I ordered right off there website lol. Owell as long as it will work . Just don't wanna starve my turbo for oil.

Every single fitting I've used for the past year or two, and everyone I know uses kinugawa stuff with great results. All steel, all strong and beefy.

as long as you ordered specifically the correct restrictor size, you'll be ok. do I think its a great brand? no. Do I think they make ok fittings and lines? yep

I bet one of those is the restrictor size all the way through vs the other just at one point of the bolt. You should post better pics. as long as the smallest part of each bolt opening is the same, they are the same.

kinugawa is good stuff

you said the new one has a smaller hole, which is good. Like 18psi said, check your old one for a restrictor. If it doesn't have a restrictor on that bolt, do you have one somewhere else, such as on the block or inline?

Figure out the correct restrictor size for your turbo and if it's bigger than the kinugawa one, drill it out to the correct size. research before modifying anything

This is what the factory oil feed looks like on my TD05. See if yours is the same.

Hope this helps.

I called kinugawa and this is what they recommended . I think the other bolt was just a bolt as it was a little longer in length and the head of it is huge. I bought the kit second hand. Unused, when I bought the kit the seller said everything I needed was there so I think he made his own. Kinugawa also sent a new one of these

The broken one looks exactly like my broken Greddy bolt, pretty sure that's the "stock" one.

I wouldn't run the banjo they sent you. The greddy one is properly restricted, and the bolt doesn't need to be. Now you're switching the restriction over to the bolt, and it appears to be a different size from what 2manyhobyz posted.

I'd keep your old banjo, and drill out the banjo bolt they sent you. Just not as large as the greddy one, as to keep some strength in it. Looks like maybe a 1/8" or 3/16"?

I would agree that you should drill it out. I ran into a similar issue with my Greddy kit. Snapped the banjo bolt torquing down on it like an idiot. I ended up purchasing a new bolt from an auto parts store that is used for brake parts. Similarly, the hole was smaller than that of the Greddy bolt and there was only one hole drilled into the side of the bolt instead of two like the Greddy bolt. I drilled out the hole to match the diameter of the Greddy bolt and drilled a second hole in the side.

Here is a link to said bolt:

The bolt I got has the two aide ports just like the old one did which are about the same size as the side ports on the old one the bottom one is the only big difference
