gt 2554r - 471171-3... Anyone using?
Anyone have any experience with this smallest BB turbo from Garrett?
plenty of people use the gt2554
General consensus? Pretty happy?
jesus did you even try to search? There are a bunch of people who use them ... I myself had on on a 1.6 for awhile and I thought it was great
wow, amazing what a search for "2554" turns up!! https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/sea...earchid=687305
You fucking kidding?
:giggle:
2554 is too small, no one makes any real power with one... :magna: tiny fag turbo for a tiny fag car.
Seriously though, if it werent for the fact that Im sure I will want more power later, I would go with the 2554, but the 2560 is a better match for me. |
just go with one of these to be safe:

That turbo is over 1/2 the size of that engine.......
Jeses, I need a magnifying glass to see that thing.
damn, is that a gt30 or gt35 series turbo?
gt42r

Why exactly would one need a GT42 on I assume a BP. Though that head and block doesnt look completely familiar to me. Even on a 2.0 engine, you would never be able to use a turbo of that size to any kind of efficiency (or would you?) Even at 500whp, I wouldnt think that engine could ever flow enough to challenge that turbo in any way. Either way, that manifold is sex, and thats a big ass turbo. What do those cost, like $2000-$2500+?

Could be usable for drags. My buddy had a SR20DET running a T60. It did great out at the drag strip. Not my cup of tea though.

That's a Mitsubishi 4G63 (2.0l or more if stroked) or possibly a 4G64 (2.4l).
1) fully built 4g63 motor that takes a shit ton of boost and spins all the way to 10k rpm. 2) full drag race aplication 3) they use antilag+nitrous to spool this sucker 4) runs single digits at the drag strip easily. A buddy of mine has this setup on a talon, his best recorded et so far is 8.6 |
Back to the original question...are you all happy with your gt2554r, or did they have problems/quirks etc... I know MANY have HAD them, but what do you think of them now ...
Ok, what are you asking this question for? If you plan on running one and just want to know whether you should or not, just state your planned setup and what goals you have for the car and people will be able to help you out..
to ask the question you did is like asking people: anyone driving a miata? if so what do you think of them? |
