Default LoveFab downpipes for sale by order....

I just recieved my New BEGI manifold and will soon be bolting it on to my 1.6 with a GT28 turbo. Cody from LoveFab is going to weld a downpipe for me. If anyone else would like one, now is your chance to have the best downpipe possible. I would imagine they would cost about $350 (?) but they will be awesome. I personally don't care what he charges me (within reason) because it will be worth it. Just let me know soon if you are interested.

I respect Cody, and I'm sure it will be a nice downpipe, but ya know Corky already makes downpipes for that turbo and manifold, and they've got a divorced wastegate plumbed in: http://bellengineering.net/Pages/pro...peupgrade.html

$265 or $365 depending for mild or stainless.

Plus, didn't Cody just get married, and isn't he super backed up with S2000 kits right now? I dunno, I'm curious to see what he makes, I just feel like it might be a while before he's able to.

I considered the downpipe from Corky but I am confident that Codys will be better. I will try and get some pictures. And yes, he is working hard on the S2000 kits, but he needs something different once in a while. We will be working on this project in the evenings. He did just get married to a very sweet girl but they took their honeymoon in advance because of the busy turbo season. All in all, this downpipe will be worth it. I wish I had a bell model to compare the two in person.

Nothing against Cody's work as we all know its outstanding craftmanship wise but there is not going to be a "best downpipe" off of any of the current manifolds on the market. They all place the turbo much to high and you almost always end up with an "S" shaped one or close to it. I think you are putting too much emphasis in the wrong place of the system design. You should have him build you a nice manifold that will lower the turbo and allow you to run a straighter 3" downpipe. The 2.5" stuff always is a choke. Have him build you a 3" if you want to make the most of your current situation.

This new Begi manifold is as low as it is going to get without pointing down. And it will be 3 inch. I thought that was a given. I would still have him design a manifold for me but there is so little room that a cast mani is required. Only if I started stripping stuff out.....

A cast manifold is not required by any means. Take a look at Wideopentuning's old manifold. I've got a DIY quasi-equal-length-runner manifold myself, and I still have A/C and P/S (top-mount manifold on mine, though).
