I run a real Type S. It came on a partial kit I bought so I can't help you there BUT I see them for sale on about half the turbo dealer websites I run across.

what source do you hook up the 2nd port to????? I've never seen one hooked up with both ports ?!?!? My type-s is using only 1 port and it's pretty loud as is....

My top port is hooked to the vac nipple downstream of the throttle body and the bottom port is hooked to the compressor housing. I would say the volume increases 5-10X when hooking it up like that, at least on my system.

I bought mine used from a eclipse owner, I would'nt be caught dead putting knock-off shit in my car, I rather buy good used name brand stuff.:bigtu:

thought id revive this thread.

Am bored of my HKS SSQV. Have bidded on a genuine greddy type s as it sounds simply devine.

Heres hoping i win the auction and have put in a pretty high max bid so got a good chance.

Is there a database of bov sounds anywhere on the net? I'm pretty happy with my Bailey, it lets off an easy wsssshhh! sound.

Here's what my Bailey sounds like

Definitely the loudest at any auto-x that I have heard. I pulled the 2nd hose off it once and it lost all the volume. I only ran like that for a few minutes before I hooked it back up because I missed the sound.

You can hear my Greddy Type-S here:

Wow.

Those of your using the Greddy (or clone) valves- are you running both springs, or only one?

I removed my ailing FM BOV a few months ago and installed one of the knockoff Greddy type valves. I opened it up and removed the smaller spring, and while it is VTA I removed the horn and machined an adapter to put a small K&N filter on the exhaust port.

My goal was to get my valve as quiet as possible and it sounds nothing like the clips y'all have posted. No whistle at all, just a whoosh of air. Sort of like a quiet fart if I had to describe it. I wish I had a portable recorder I could use to take a clip of it...

I really like the forge motorsports one that I got from PAT. The sound is truly amazing and the price is definately right.
