guacamole

I've got a '95 miata that will be going turbo soon, but first I need to do a roll bar, clutch, and coolant reroute. Just bought a used mspnp2 9495 for a good price, but would like to put it up on the shelf while I get the rest of this stuff done first. Does anyone know of a good way to test it's working properly without fully installing it on the car w/ IAT & MAP lines, basemap, etc? I was thinking of just plugging in the harnesses, key on with tuner studio MS open (I wouldn't dare crank), and seeing what happens.
