I need a new dual feed rail..

I really dont feel like making another DIY rail, and I just got an email from FM saying the dual feed rail I ordered from them is on back order (funny how I allways get that from them..). I thought I heard Vishnu USED to make one but doesnt anymore, but are there any other dual feed rails out there? I really need one soon, before my fuel leak turns from seeping to spraying.

What's wrong with the one you have?
If you need a new rail call someone like partsgroup.com and get one, then have AN bungs welded onto the rail so you can use JIC fittings. It's cheaper and faster than waiting on FM's slow ass.

When I tapped it a while back, it got tapped kinda cocked, so it ended up not sealing correctly. I JB welded the hell out of it, but it only lasted so long. I have another OEM rail, i'm thinking about doing something like you suggested. I didnt really mind paying the extra few bucks for the FM rail since I would have stainless lines too then, but they arent even telling me when its going to be in. "Maby in a couple of weeks". Shouldnt they list items as back ordered like alot of web sites? It bugs the hell out of me, it happens every other time I order from FM (which isnt often..)

I'm going to be in the market for one before too long also... maybe we should organize a group buy with BEGi, so they are guaranteed the sales to justify design before they get going.

The stainless lines are nice, but as you probably know, not necessary. 5/16" fuel injection hose and the associated hose clamps don't cost much and seal fine. Mine's been installed for a few weeks now, no leaks. (If it were oil, I'd say a 37-deg metal-to-metal flare is the way to go; my previous ghetto oil cooler -- came with the car -- used hose clamps and barb fittings for the oil cooler lines...and yes, they leaked.)

Of course I don't mind DIY. :)

yeah, rubber fuel injection hose is just fine...

whoops gives flamer in a miata a whole new meaning

I saw a '91 today that burned to the ground due to a hole in the fuel line as well. Looked horrible, the hood didn't have a hole in it but it was warped as hell. Motor was destroyed, interior was gone. Can't imagine that happening. Good reason to carry an extinguisher.

I'm in on a group buy if someone can make a few cheap!

Burned down is a good reason to insure for replacement cost! I'd love to get high book and the cost of a new FM/ Begi turbo kit.

cjernigan 09-05-2007 07:36 PM

Pretty sure Turbotim makes fuel rails. I think the last i saw he made a super sweet stainless one.

cjernigan 09-05-2007 07:37 PM

This thread has lots of good info on the matter.

I'm suprised BEGi have not produced a dual feed fuel rail yet.

Mouglie 09-05-2007 08:54 PM

UrbanSoot 09-05-2007 09:54 PM

paul 09-05-2007 10:52 PM

I gotta see if I can get Tim to make me one of those fancy stainless dual feed fuel rails. His looks pretty trick on that engine.

mkrazit 09-05-2007 10:57 PM

I guess the DIY FAQ should be changed then... :)

What part? If you run the tap straight instead of crooked there aren't any problems. This is the first occurance of someone saying their DIY messed up that I know of.
