IC piping

Is anyone running this style intercooler pipe setup? Looks nice and simple and short, with very few bends & couplers. I know their kits are for SC'd Miata's, but I don't see why you couldn't DIY a similar turbo system.

Somehow I missed the turbo kits at the bottom of the page. Geez, could they charge a little more for them?

m2cupcar 01-17-2008 02:35 PM

If I remember correctly he had to reinvent the wheel with the pipes to get them to clear the hood.

Loki047 01-17-2008 02:58 PM

No no it wasnt that hard.

You have to be able to weld (or know someone who can)

You cut the rad brackets and weld them about 1.5 inches lower (check this with the rad fans because of the front sway bar)

Then run your pipes and cut the hood a little bit. MAKE SURE YOU GET A INTERCOOLER WITH OUTLETS ON THE SAME SIDE!!

Oh and the thread was called My devil horns just came in.

Braineack 01-17-2008 03:16 PM

Do you recall how thick the wall was on the pick-up tube? I may have to go back and fill in my gouged tube with JB weld for piece of mind.

Loki047 01-17-2008 05:55 PM

1/12" i dont really remember

sv650_ck 01-17-2008 06:00 PM

Any tips on removing the oil drain fitting after it's been JB welded to the pan?
